  • Tongue

If necessary, you may need to show your child exactly how to brush. This should include short strokes that are gentle. Brushing too hard can damage teeth and soft oral tissues. It is very important to clean around the gum line and molar areas, even if they are hard to reach.

This technique may take a while to master for small children, but by remaining diligent and helping your child along the way, they’ll be able to do it on their own in no time.

Just remember, it’s best to monitor your child’s oral hygiene regime both in the morning and at night. If you prefer, go ahead and take care of your own teeth and gums at the same time. This will encourage them to keep their mouths clean, and they can watch you do it the right way, asking for help when needed.
